Susan W. Jeansonne, M.D.

“Dr. J” as many parents, patients and co-workers call her, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy and graduated from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society as a Medical Doctor in 1999. She completed her residency with LSUHSC New Orleans and Children’s Hospital New Orleans where she was recognized by the PICU Physicians as Outstanding PICU resident and was co-awarded as Outstanding Pediatrics Resident in her last year of residency. She went on to complete an additional voluntary year as a Chief Resident of the program.

Dr. Jeansonne has been a resident of Kingsport, Tennessee since 2005. She has 8 years of experience as a primary pediatrician covering outpatient well and acute care as well as neonatal hospital care. In addition, she has approximately nine years of experience working in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Dr. Jeansonne was a staff physician with Children’s Hospital New Orleans Emergency Department before moving to Tennessee and has 8 years of experience in the Niswonger Pediatric Emergency Department. “Dr. J” loves educating parents and young patients about health concerns and leading them to wellness. She is a Board Certified Pediatrician, Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a member of the Tennessee AAP.

Dr. Jeansonne currently serves as Medical Director for the Sullivan County Child Advocacy Center and as a member of the Ballad Health Population Health Clinical Steering Committee. She is married to Gregory Jeansonne and has two children and loves spending time with her family.
